U.S. Economy Officially Recovered
This Allard sold for $370,000
I shot the above photo of this 1953 Allard J2X Hemi-Powered LeMans Lightweight in November, 2003 at Texas World Speedway CVAR vintage races/Allard meet. It just sold at Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Having watched this auction on SpeedVision for the last 3 years, I can safely say the "worst economy in 100 years" has officially recovered. Record amounts for American muscle cars with large crowds and raucous bidding, compared with rather lackluster action in years past.
This 1954 Olds F-88 Concept Car sold for a cool $3 million -- and yes, that is a record price.
